The collection contains a bond between Greenbury Wilborn and Thomas W. Bradley and the Commonwealth of Virginia, to keep a bridge in repair, 1861 June 24; an account of R.A. Addams and Halifax County, Va., for payment to patrollers for the month of January, 1861, listing 6 men and their hours; a signed list of funds distributed in Wythe County, Va., to dependents of soldiers in the 4th and 51st regiments, 1863; an order to pay the wife of a 51st Virginia Volunteer the sum of $22.00, 1863 March 11; an appointment, 1863 March 30, of C.G. Fulks, as Nelson County agent for distribution of salt; a note, 1863 September 10, from Lewis C. Arthur, concerning a bag of salt for James Bruce; a license tax, 1863 October 26, for A.F. Ferguson, to keep an ordinary at his hotel in Liberty, Bedford County, Va. Also an account of the estate of William Thompson of Carroll County, Va., 1864 April, by his executor William Kyle; an attested statement that Nelson B. Stimson took oath of office as justice of the peace for Floyd County, Va., 1864; a list of indigent women and children [soldiers' dependents?] in the Prospect District, Prince Edward County, Va.; an Augusta County, Va., tax receipt, 1864 November 8, to Samuel Bell; and a note, 1865, February 12, from the Misses Rowland and Pettigrew, matrons at [Chimborazo?] Hospital forwarding a Mrs. Bell her deceased son's prayer book. Several signatures are made by mark.
